Regulating Together Program (Ages 8-18)

Regulating Together is a neurobehavioral emotional regulation 10-week program for caregivers and children/teens that meets in-person, once a week, for 90 minutes in separate child and caregiver groups. This group is good for children/teens:
- with Autism and related Neurodevelopmental Disorders who are also experiencing emotion dysregulation, and/or rigidity, anxiety, mood, and emotional outbursts
- who are verbally fluent and have roughly average cognitive ability
- who are able to participate in a group setting
- who have a caregiver who can participate in the caregiver group, as this is a family intervention
Skills training for children/teens includes:
- relaxation
- emotion identification
- problem solving
- cognitive restructuring techniques
- cognitive flexibility
Skills training for caregivers includes:
- prevention and de-escalation strategies
- relaxation
- behavior management techniques
- caregiver coaching skills to assist in generalizing skills taught in the program to settings outside and continued use of the material once the program ends.

Billing:
Currently, all groups are billed through your insurance plan. At this time, we are using the multi-group family therapy code (CPT 90849) and group therapy code (CPT 90853). Groups run by our speech language pathologist use speech therapy group code (CPT 92508). Please check with our clinic coordinator and call your insurance plan to see if it is a covered benefit. Self-pay option is also available.
