Project ImPACT - Early Intervention Service

Project ImPACT (Improving Parents As Communication Teachers) is an evidence-backed, caregiver-mediated early intervention program for young children (ages 2-6) who have or are at risk for social communication delays and autism. The intervention is designed to increase the caregiver's responsiveness to their child’s behavior and to teach the child new communication, imitation, and play skills during interactions.

What to Expect:

  • Two sessions per week for 16 weeks:
    • Telehealth Didactic: This session reviews one evidence-based strategy and requires a 5-minute video of you practicing the weekly skill with your child.
    • In-Person Coaching: This in-person session includes active practice of the weekly strategy with immediate coaching and feedback.
  • Caregivers and the clinicians will collaborate on developmentally appropriate social communication and play goals.
  • Learn evidence-based techniques to use in everyday activities to help your child’s social communication development.
  • Receive direct coaching and feedback on skills and strategies.
  • Complete weekly readings and handouts. You will be required to purchase the parent manual.
